Went for my weekly routine check-up with Dr John Yam (my gynae) @ Gleneagles.
Was put under observation to monitor baby's heartbeat for 2 hours.
Apparently the result showed that I was having constant contractions.
Funny thing was I did not feel a thing. He scanned me and found that
my water level’s low. And the best part…I was already freaking 2cm dilated.
He said that I had to be admitted to the labour suite immediately.
Dazed and confused.
Decided to have lunch first before registering my admission.
Still dazed and confused.
Led to the labour suite by a concierge.
Greeted by the nurse and followed her instructions then on.
Slightly nervous.
1 pm onwards. I was already lying on bed with all the equipments all around.
Dr Yam and the mid wife came every 2 hours to check my cervix.
Never felt so ‘violated’ before. Things were cool still.
Rested and feeling oh so bored.
8 pm onwards. Could feel the contractions but pretty bearable. 3cm dilated.
Still cool.
10 pm onwards. Contractions became more frequent and more painful.
Still enduring.
11 pm onwards. Unbearable. The pain was excruciating and seriously considering epidural. 7cm dilated.
Lost it.
12 am onwards. Only God knew. So only to HIM I sought comfort.
Nothing else mattered.
1 am onwards. Fully dilated. Dr Yam, two midwives and hubby all geared up.
And so I huffed and I puffed and pushed.
Final hurdle.
1.12 am. Nur Iman Binte Sulaiman entered the world.
Euphoria.
And so…Nur Iman was delivered 'NORMAL' with NO EPIDURAL ya’ll.
